Challenge
Yuen is a word that means origin or reason in Japanese. Hot Spring Hotel Yuen reexamines the essential elements of a hotel, curating room layouts, designs, and services to meet the needs of guests and the environment. It offers a new option in the tourism market, including for inbound travelers.
Solution
We were in charge of the website design direction. Embodying the hotel's concept of 'simplicity without excess' and 'tranquility and calmness', we expressed a poetic worldview centered on photography and typography that embodies a refined sense of beauty.
The origin of the “ryokan” is, in a sense, the “omotenashi” hospitality culture of Japan taking physical form. It is a calm, quiet space, born of an austere and simple design, possessed of a minimalist beauty, that welcomes all five senses across all four seasons.
